Local Govt. Strengthening Program

As part of its interventions for improving local level governance, IRDS initiated a number of activities for strengthening Local Govt. Institutions. In this regard IRDS has the following activities to its credit.

• A pilot project on "Formulation of Union Development Plan in two model UCs of City Distt. Govt. Peshawar in a participatory manner" has been approved by the PPSO-DSP; project activities will be initiated soon.
• Conducted research study for NPSO-Decentralization Support Program on the "Implementation Status of LGO 2001 in the Four City Distt. Govts. of Pakistan".
• Developed training module on “CCBs Formation and Registration Process”.
• Organized training workshops on the module for elected and public representatives and NGOs professionals in Districts of Mansehra, Buner, Charsadda, Nowshera and Peshawar.
• Carried out “Needs Assessment of the CCBs” for evolving capacity building plan.
• Developed training module on “Strengthening of CCBs”.
• Training activities carried out on the module to enable the CCBs' office bearers to develop projects and learn the techniques of project development, implementation and monitoring.
• Developed Urdu booklet-I on “Formation and Registration Process of CCBs “.
• Developed Urdu booklet-II on “CCBs Project Proposal Development & Implementation”.
